One July 23, 2002, nine miners were trapped beneath the ground of Dormel Farms in Somerset. Five days later, the workers were rescued, prompting the property owners to turn the site into a monument to remember the men who were rescued. Walk ways and sculptures are featured as a way to reenact the events that took place that day.

This memorial site honors the passengers and crew of Flight 93, who thwarted the the attack on the U.S. Capitol on September 11, 2001. The historic day forever changed the crash site, a Pennsylvania field, and today peacefully welcomes thousands year-round, seven days a week.
