Shaver's Creek Environmental Center
This outdoor environmental education center is located half way between State College and Huntingdon. It is operated by Penn State University as an outreach source for environmental education. A welcome center, an herb and flower garden, an interactive exhibit room, a bird of prey center and picnic areas are all located on the site. The center is a popular destination for families and offers hiking trails, discovery programs and adult education programs.

Nestled in the small town of Meyersdale in the Allegheny Mountains is the Storybook Castle Company and the land of make believe. Children will delight in visiting the company's renovated castle and watching as six animated stories are brought to life. Open Wednesday through Sunday.
