    Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art

    Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art offers traveling and permanent exhibitions, as well as educational programs. The American Association of Museums gave the museum accreditation in 1995 and today it is found in four communities: Loretto, Altoona, Ligonier and Johnstown. Inside the museum is a large selection of 19th and 20th century items, such as paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints., including some work of Andy Warhol.

    Centre Furnace Mansion

    The Centre Furnace Mansion was once the home of iron master Moses Thompson and today is open for tours. Situated on 8 acres of land that was once the Centre Furnace Village, the home and property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. People can tour the mansion on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1pm to 4pm and see the 18th century antiques that decorate the rooms.

    The National Museum of the American Coverlet
