Running 16 mi (26 km) in length from the bottom of Pennsylvania into Maryland, the lake boasts excellent trout fishing. In the fall, the area explodes with color as the leave change.
Branching off from the Allegheny River at McKeesport, the Youghiogheny River continues through Pennsylvania to Maryland and ending near Silver Lake, West Virginia. It runs a total of 151 mi (242 km) and boasts some of Pennsylvania's best white water rapids, making it popular with rafters.
